What Is the Woofie's Franchise?

Woofie’s is a full-service mobile pet care franchise that offers pet owners convenient and quality pet care services, including mobile pet grooming, dog walking and pet sitting.

The franchise was founded by two ambitious women, Amy and Leslie. They saw a need in their community for exceptional pet services and had the entrepreneurial spirit required to meet the demand. The Woofie’s franchising company, Woofie’s Pet Ventures, LLC, allows franchise owners to benefit from the well-rounded business model and dedicated franchise support team.

Our History

2004

Woofie’s was started by neighbors Amy Reed and Leslie Barron in Ashburn, VA. They left their corporate jobs to pursue a passion for pet care and fill a void in their personal lives as dog owners.

Day 1, 2004

Amy and Leslie started small and walked one dog together for $10.

Day 30, 2004

They expanded their pet sitting services to include overnight and 24-hour pet care.

2005

After just a few months, tails were wagging and clients sang their praises. Amy and Leslie were both walking dogs seven days a week! As demand grew, they started to build a team of trusted pet sitters and dog walkers.

2010

Woofie’s was proud to win the first of many regional and local awards for excellence in pet services.

2011

Having built a base of thousands of pet-sitting and dog-walking clients in Ashburn, Amy and Leslie were consistently asked to offer dog grooming services. With a boot-strap investment, they purchased their first mobile pet spa van and hired their first groomer.

2012

Their growing popularity had clients begging for more! Amy and Leslie hired a back-office team to manage service requests.

2015

Woofie’s was recognized as one of the Top 100 Small Businesses in the U.S. by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

2017

Ready for prime time! Woofie’s was featured on CNBC’s The Job Interview.

2018

To replicate their beloved business model in other markets with a demand for service, Amy and Leslie formed their franchising company, Woofie’s Pet Ventures, LLC.

2019

Woofie’s opened its first three franchise locations in South Riding-Aldie, Leesburg, and Reston-Herndon, VA.

2022

Woofie's joined Authority Brands, the leading name in premium home services franchises. This partnership elevated Woofie's offerings and expanded reach, bringing top-notch pet care to more homes than ever!
Sept 2024
